Center for Housing Renovation and Dispute Settlement Support was established to improve people's housing standard.
Consumer protection in regard to housing has captured more public attention than ever several years before in Japan.
In April 2000"the Housing Quality Assurance Act" came into effect. The law stipulates the following three major contents;
1)Housing Performance Indication Sysytem 2)Compulsory 10 years Liability for Housing Defect 3)Dispute Settlement Scheme.
And in October 2008, "The Act for Execution of Defects Warranty Liability" came into force to ensure housing consumer protection.
These laws stipulate mechanisms for resolving disputes relating to housing evaluated or covered by defects warranty liability insurance and these disputes are now to be settled through the nationwide 52 Bar Associations.
In addition, we have been helping housing consumers by giving advice on housing related matters and information provision on housing renovation.
In collaboration with bar associations, we are supporting people who are in trouble with their houses.
Also we make a survey on housing and provide various information to businesses.
